As part of my CHID major, I’ve been having to think ahead to my thesis project for the program. CHID is Comparative History of Ideas, and a very nebulous program. It’s hard to define, really.

I’ve always been fascinated by social interaction and how it’s evolved. When I first thought of my thesis, I was focusing on how technology has shaped that. As I have thought further though, I’m thinking more along how etiquette has evolved, and how it’s changed the social and cultural boundaries. A piece of that is technology, but I also want to incorporate literature (since I am an English major as well).

Specifically, I am thinking of focusing on how children’s literature and technology geared toward children has impacted this social evolution.

The purpose of this page is to put the idea out into the public as I hone and tweak it. I welcome all thoughts/comments/etc. I would appreciate the feedback as I move forward.
